Book Guardians Aotearoa

Ngā Kaitiaki o ngā Pukapuka

The National Library of New Zealand has begun to dispose of the wonderful collection of overseas publications in its care which belong to the people of Aotearoa New Zealand. We are campaigning to see that the Library undertakes a careful, considered review of the collection and retains the books which the researchers and readers of today and tomorrow need.

Book Guardians supports a well funded National Library which is returned to its former rightful place outside the Department of Internal Affairs. The current crisis is due entirely to cost-cutting imposed on the Library by DIA mis-management.
